Description
Put yourself into the mindset of the average wine drinker, and take a look at this bottle for us.
This label is throwing a lot of words your way – Angelo, Negro, Onorata, Langhe, Favorita – and you’re supposed to suss out what all that means?
Let us boil it down for you, though, not literally… as that’d make a sort of grape syrup.
Angelo Negro—a winemaker from Italy—made this wine called Onorata, from the Vermentino grape varietal grown in the Langhe region of Piemonte, where the grape is better known as Favorita.
Because some king, some time ago, declared it to be his favourite grape. Or something.
Now that’s all well and good, but your average wine drinker wants to know just one thing – is it any good?
We think so, hence our using this platform to sing its praises, and here’s why:
With a nose reminiscent of honeysuckle white peach, Onorata’s palate delivers the same alongside rustic almond and citrus peel, with a mineral underpinning tying things together. The finish is long and dry.
We reckon it pairs best with grilled fish, citrusy salads, and roast chicken, but hey——it’s your bottle of wine if you buy it.
Drink it with whatever you like.
